Lugnets nature reserve area is a short walk, or bike ride from my house. I rode my bike there today, five minutes after locking my front door I entered the closest trail in the trail system. It really is an amazing area, with both easy trails (hiking/horseback riding/mountainbike,) and some more challenging. There is also a big sport complex, ski jumps, ski-tracks for cross country skiing in the winter, and a swimming hall. Joining my friend Terri for her Sunday Stills with the theme Evergreen I’m sharing some photos from today.
The pine trees takes over at higher elevation, at lower elevation there is a mix of trees, and some wet lands. There are so many trails, and I love the fact that I still have a lot left to explore. In fact the close proximity to this nature reserve and all the lakes are reason enough for me to really enjoy life here in this part of Dalarna. The green soft “carpet” under the trees are mainly blueberry bushes. The blueberries are coming. I ate some while in the forest today. Within the next few weeks the abundance will be plentiful.
I hope you enjoyed this visit to Lugnets nature reserve area in Falun, Sweden. I also hope you are enjoying the great outdoors this summer! Are you? Tell me about your favourite place to enjoy nature in a comment!
It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. I now reside in the region where I was born: Dalarna, Sweden. I am a mom, a kindergarten teacher, a minimalist and a gardener.
Love,
Maria

Looks like a great place to get out and enjoy the benefits of Nature, and so wonderfully close to where you live. As you know, I am blessed to be surrounded by Nature living rurally, so we mostly walk the trails right outside our door, truly blessed! ❤
It is a fantastic place to breath in the forest. I am grateful to be surrounded by nature, especially now when I live in an apartment. You my friend are truly blessed with your very own piece of paradise ❤
What an amazingly beautiful area, Maria! And so close to home. The bike trail on the American River was like that near our old home in Sacramento. Here water access and hikes are also very close! Thanks for sharing those glorious evergreens with Sunday Stills!
Thank you Terri! Some parts of our forests have a lot in common with places in Northern California, the road from Placerville to Lake Tahoe have many places that looks a lot like our neck of the wood. I used to hike a lot on the trails net to the American River when I was pregnant with my daughters, and when she was an infant. We used to live very close to the river outside Georgetown (CA.)
Thank you Ju-Lyn! It is a peaceful place, and I am grateful that it is close to home. There are older forests, with taller trees in our region, but they are further away.
Wild blueberries I bet are so very tasty! I love how this is right outside your door (almost) and biking through this beautiful area is just beautiful. I saw your photos on FB/Insta too, but really wanted to comment here as well. I know you know I am outside every day! I enjoyed this immensely! 😀
They are! They usually have a more intense taste, compared to the ones commercially farmed. The weather have been very warm, and I am expecting a lot of blueberries to ripen this week. Starting tomorrow the temperature is dropping slightly and it’s a great time to go out and look for them.
I hope you find a lot to harvest before you have to start back to work. I know that feeling of having a wonderful relaxing vacation but somehow it feels like it goes by too fast! ❤️
