Weekend Coffee Share – Life is good

Can I offer you some coffee? Or tea? It’s a beautiful fall weekend in my part of Sweden, around 50F/10C. We’ve had a mostly cloudy week, with some rain. The trees are still glorious with golden yellow, and orange colours. Even though I am a single mom of two, working full time, I make time for walking in nature every day. I need that recharge of my mental batteries on a daily basis. Did you have a chance to enjoy nature this week? What is the weather like in your corner of the world?

Walking home from work yesterday.

Work and school have been great this week, very rewarding. My family is in good health. My projects are going in the right direction. I even started a new little project, crocheting a winter hat for a baby boy (not yet born.) I’ll post photos when the project is done, after gifting the hat to my pregnant friend.

One of my favourite trails last Sunday.

My heart is filled with gratitude. After sleeping in to almost 7am (!) I deep cleaned my entire home this morning. (7am I almost midday for me. LOL. I was extremely tired yesterday.) The weeks laundry is done. Grocery shopping taken cared of, I had groceries for the next three weeks delivered on Thursday. I’m definitely ready for a fabulous weekend! I have school books to read, but I am ahead of my schedule, nothing is really pressing. I’m going to spend time with my children this weekend, ride my bike, do some blogging, and prepare healthy meals for next week. Perhaps I’ll rearrange some plants around the house. How is your week?

A groove of young aspen trees close to work.

Have a refill on your beverage and tell me about your weekend plans! Thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share! Have a fabulous weekend!

Love,

Maria

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. I now reside in the region where I was born: Dalarna, Sweden. I am a mom, a kindergarten teacher, a minimalist and a gardener. Love, Maria

  1. Those are some fantastic autumn colours there, especially in the middle picture. After a couple of days with rain we have a lovely day today, with mixed clouds/some sun, and actually 18 degrees! Amazing.

      1. Thanks, Maria. It’s much cooler now, a cold front has temperatures a bit below seasonal norms but it’s nice. Sunny and 75 today, 72 Monday then cooling to the mid 60s. Your kind of weather, Maria! ❤️🇸🇪

  2. Lovely trail photos, Maria. Living with gratitude brings contentment. I live a car-free lifestyle so when I read about your walk in nature, it makes me smile. Our fall foliage is showing up later than usual due to the continuing warm weather. Today’s high is 19C, and the forecast calls for 22C on Monday and Tuesday. Thank you for linking up with #weekendcoffeeshare. If you could create a pingback/ link back to my coffee share post, as opposed to the InLinkz URL, I’d greatly appreciate it. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Thank you Natalie, maybe that is why I enjoy your coffee shares so much, both of us enjoying simple things in life. You have a very warm October! Have a wonderful week ahead.

  3. I love that you mention getting your laundry done. I got all our laundry done today and it seems like such a triumph. I have had a good week. My back injury is clearing up very well with the physio exercises I have been given and I am hoping to get back to riding this coming week. Iad a great thrill watching my coach ride Biasini this week. She was doing passage ( a slow motion trot) and he was amazing doing it.I have seen her do it on him before but now he raised it up to another level. My coach said she felt he ha come up to a new level. This was so exciting as the passage is a very advanced movement from the Gran Prix level. Best wishes Maria for the coming week.

    1. Yes, I don’t know why it always feels like a triumph getting the laundry done, but it does 🙂 I enjoy folding the clean laundry. It’s satisfying.
I hope you get to ride again real soon as I know how much you enjoy that. I’m going to have to see if you posted any photos of Melinda riding Biasini 🙂 Sounds exciting!
Have a wonderful new week ahead!

  4. Hi Maria. It is almost late Sat. evening here and I’ve been out in nature the better part of the day. You’ve heard me talk about the family membership we have in a private park where the whole point is being outside with friends. But today was the day when I go up and help maintain the park and again today, I got my favorite job of driving the dump truck around and collecting piles of brush, branch droppings really from all the redwood and bay trees. It was wonderful just on the face of it, but it was my first full day of being outside and working post covid. I held up really well but also really crashed when I finally got home. If I sleep 2 1/2 hours in the late afternoon, can I still call it a nap? Anyway, I was so happy just to be out there, still alive and able to enjoy the people and the trees and the cooler weather despite the bright sunshine.

I’m very behind in visiting others coffee shares but I have some time tomorrow to try and close that gap some.

It sounds like things are wonderful in Sweden. Your son is home and everything is running smoothly. Considering how much chaos there is in the world, this should be seen as a huge blessings.

It also sounds like you understand this.

    (even more) blessings.

    1. I am thrilled you got to spend much needed time outdoors, even though I can understand that you got very tired. I actually don’t recall you mentioning that park membership, I probably just forgot. You live in such a wonderfully beautiful part of California that I imagine it being very satisfying being a member of such a club. Best wishes for a wonderful new week.

      1. Hi Maria, I would have sworn that you had seen and responded to my earlier story about the place, but looked back and I was wrong. Then it occurred to me that this story likely happened when you were taking a break from blogging. You must check this out because the photos of the the stump turned out really nice and the “park” is better described. It’s far from elegant and in fact few who actually live there have much money. But, what we do have is a 5 -6 generation legacy of being a place where children play in safety, whole families and friends play bocce ball together or swim in the river. bikes are ridden and camping happens all summer long.

        I know you would approve.

  5. Your photos are stunning. We have had cloudy rainy weather recently. Today we’ve had a few downpours. Sleeping til 7 is sleeping in for me too. I normally get up at 5. Have a great week.
