Welcome to the Weekend Coffee Share, can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? The weather here in my part of Sweden have been beautiful all week, with cold nights, and sunny days with temperatures of about 30-40F.

We’ve been following a sports curriculum all week at work, arranging soccer tournaments, hockey tournaments, yoga, dance, gymnastics, hiking in the forest, and cross country skiing for the children. It’s been a fantastic week so far. What’s going on in your corner of the world?

Today I want to share with you a video and a song of a Swedish musician that I like. I hope you enjoy the song and beautiful scenery. I am contemplating taking my children to one of his concerts this spring.
This summer we are going to go hiking in the mountains of northern Sweden (close to those places you saw in the video.) I did that a lot growing up, and I am eager to get back into that tradition. Are you starting to plan your summer vacation? I am waiting to make specific plans (dates, and places,) but I know that there is going to be a lot of nature, and hiking in beautiful places. That is what my soul is craving at the moment.

Thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share. Please visit her blog, and have a look at all the lovely coffee shares. I hope you are enjoying a fabulous weekend!
Love,
Maria
Beautiful scenery! Yes, we hav been planning our summer vacation for months…something to look forward to, fun to research all that we want to do on the trip…with the world opening up again post-pandemic (slowly but seemingly surely), we can only hope that a Mad Man doesn’t cause more disruption…after what the world has gone through, his actions are even more despicable

Thank you! Half the fun is in the planning, at least almost 🙂 I hope your plans come true.

Lovely video and song. Thanks so much! We have not spent and time traveling on vacations. All of our “toys” and dogs are here. Al goes camping with some of his/our ham radio friends sometime during August. (They built a cabin on the land some years ago, so they now have amenities.) I have come to enjoy the “me” time long since, having unscheduled time for my own projects without having to concern myself with hours of the day or night or having to be quiet. Not anything to do, I expect, with aging, since before I married, I took solitary vacations also. Got a lot of reading done, slept when I wanted, and explored new places. (Being an extreme introvert, I expect that I am less focused on my surroundings.)

You are welcome 🙂 It sounds wonderful to have a life where you don’t need a vacation. That is many peoples dream you have right there! Hiking, meditating, and reading whatever I want is what I want to spend time doing on my vacation, along with some gardening projects.

The furry tomato plant is cute! I hope that children in Sweden spend much less time playing video games, much healthier. I love the song and video, very wonderful, Maria! Have a great weekend. ❤️

Hi Maria,
I was just starting to think that you forgot about us this weekend.
Spending some vacation time hiking the mountains sounds wonderful.
I miss those days myself: getting caught in a Yosemite flash downpour, meeting a bear in the same mountains, climbing to the top of Half Dome and crawling out to look over the edge, freeze dried dinners, seeing other hikers coming up the trail we were following down and noting all their women were topless – so I found an excuse to yell something back to the last person in our party to “announce our presence & give the approaching gals time to find their shirts, wet boots steaming dry by the evening fire and the never ending beauty of nature in the raw.
Gosh! Those were the days.

I wouldn’t forget coffee with my friends 🙂
Those sounds like wonderful memories. I took my daughter camping in Yosemite for Mother’s Days weekend a few years ago (6-7 maybe?) It was very beautiful, before the big crowds of the summer arrived.

Love the pretty little cup. Beautiful scenery the melting snow would just add to the anticipation of fun in the sun. We are in Autumn, now flooding season for us, this is our best garden growing time. Not much holidaying but lots of fun in the puddles.

Beautiful song and video (I ended up listening to more than one!), good share.
Sounds like wonderful and healthy outdoor activities for the kids. Wish my school had been like that!
You encourage me to think about spring and summer travels. It’s been so long, it seems like a dream.
Love that brave little tomato seedling! 🙂

It does feel like traveling was in a different lifetime, doesn’t it? Where do you want to go Eliza?

Thank you for the coffee!! And thank you for sharing the video, my favorite type of music and the scenery was beautiful including the horses!! ❤️
I’m thinking I need to start some seedlings if I can concentrate on starting a small garden. I never devote enough time and then start my garden late so maybe I’ll get motivated. Your tomato sprouts look great!! I’m always struggling with time with all that I do. I know you will plan a wonderful summer vacation. Hmm… Other than visiting my grandkids, I haven’t made any other plans yet this year. Have a wonderful weekend and week ahead!! ❤️

Your tomato plant looks great, I never got started with mine but I’ve planted some seeds I saved last year. We’ve had some very sunny days lately and some seedlings are slowly coming up but I think we’ll need to buy plants this year again.
That’s some very nice scenery in that video! Our summer will mostly be about music since we have some gigs, but we’ll also do some roadtrips around Ireland, perhaps not very far away this year but we’ll see what happens.
I’m watching Vasaloppet on SVT Play while I write this and it always gives some nostalgia since I come from the area. But this particular Sunday is always nice!

Thank you! I was contemplating going to Mora today, but my daughter wasn’t interested at all. My grandma used to live at the finish line, and we used to greet the skiers as they finished the race. My favourite thing about it was the candy I always got that day 🙂 Have a great rest of your day!

Love the Tomato plant. I’ve got a couple on the go. Tiny in comparison. I need to give them a bit more sun I think judging from how yours is looking.

I hope your seedlings thrive. We’ve had some sunny days now, but when I am at work I have an extra LED light shining on them. There’s still time 🙂

That’s interesting. I’d be worried about bolting which has happened to me before. Is it just the light, no heat?

No heat, and just a little bit of extra light. There is a lot of new research when it comes to what kind of light to use. Reading that made me interested in experimenting a little. The one I use it’s a 40W LED light from IKEA, very inexpensive, but I do notice a difference. Within 4-5 weeks they are going out to my sunroom.

Looking forward to seeing the yield. My plants don’t seem to be moving at moment. I’m sure they are. I just need more patience!

It is an interesting video and the scenery is beautiful. Funny, in the credits it talks about things like stunt doubles, but I don’t think it says who the two leads are! I’m sure you are looking forward to going up to the mountains this summer.
Have a great week!

Ahhhh – summer really is on the way
And the song was interesting – also – at first it looked like your photos could have been in that video – the concert sounds like a fun idea too.
Hope you have a nice week

What a cute little mug! I recently signed up my kid for dance class — she had an interest for dancing and she enjoys it a lot. I signed for soccer a couple of months ago and she was not into it. But that free so no big deal :-).

Interesting and stimulating music. Almost primeval but very powerful. I loved the scenery and in some ways, it reminded me of the areas in Northern Norway where the “Alone Denmark,” and, “Alone Norway,” documentary was filmed. I have visited some of the areas close to Umeå and Skellefteå in Vasterbotten but the area in the video looks further north than that on account of the lack of trees. The look of the forests, dappled with snow, your pretty cup and the mention of skiing makes me long for Sweden!

Also? I would like to be a student in your school. 🙂
