Weekend Coffee Share – Easter Edition

Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I get you a cup of coffee? The sun is shining, if you’d like we could sit outside? How is your week?

I don’t know how things are at your house, but at our house the Easter bunny is preparing an epic Easter egg hunt. LOL. This weekend is going to be chill with Easter themed crafting activities, good food, and some gardening.

We are trying some new paint especially made for painting eggs.

The weather is warm and sunny, in the mid 50’s and rising to the lower 60’s next week. Almost all the snow is gone. The plan is to get the tomato plants out to the balcony on Monday. The balcony is several degrees warmer than the outside temperature and it should be fine. I can’t wait because now the plants are covering my windows and are starting to bloom. They need to move outside to bigger pots. What’s the weather like in your corner of the world?

My daughter has a stubborn cold that refuses to leave. We are both enjoying just spending time together this long weekend. The spring is filled with fun activities and this might be the last quiet weekend in a long time. All the activities ahead of us are also welcome after two long years of Covid restrictions. Especially my daughter can’t wait to spend time in different cities and explore again. I’m happy as long as I get to do some gardening, read some books, take walks in the forest, and ride my bike.. but I do understand my daughter as well.

Feel free to take a refill of that coffee before you leave! Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Happy Easter!

Love,

Maria

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. I now reside in the region where I was born: Dalarna, Sweden. I am a mom, a kindergarten teacher, a minimalist and a gardener. Love, Maria

  1. You have so many good things happening, I am happy for you, Maria! I hope your daughter beats that cold very soon. Sunshine and 81 degrees are the forecasts for today in Las Vegas, another perfect day! Be well, Maria. ❤️🇸🇪

    1. Thank you so much John! I’m happy too hear the storm passed Vegas and that your air is now breathable. I still get a slight shock every time I see that the air quality in Vegas is hazardous. Wonderful that you can enjoy the weather now. Happy biking!

      1. I remember that you had a very tough time with your breathing when you were living here. I think your breathing must be much better now! It never bother me but it’s gross to see the smog hanging over the valley when I’m high enough up. Yuck!

  2. I have no idea what 50s and 60s are, haha! But I heard Sweden would get some nice weather for Easter. Well deserved after all the snow! I hope your daughter’s cold will disappear soon. Here we’re having some decent weather, although not great because it’s a bit too windy for my taste. But it could be worse. Our Easter weekend is full of music so it should be a good one! We’re going to a birthday party (including playing music with the people there) tomorrow and will play in a pub on Sunday.

    1. Awe, thank you Susanne. I imagine an Easter filled with music is just fabulous for you. Enjoy!
The weather here is more normal for the season now, 12-15C during the day, next week it will stay above freezing at night. Things are moving in the right direction 🙂 Happy Easter!

  3. Boy, that coffee looks good… But since I’m about to go to bed, I’d better abstain, hehe! 😉
Sounds like you have an exciting spring planned. I for one, am so thrilled that the warmer weather is here; the past few days were upper 60s, so wonderful to feel the sun on my body. Slowly, getting the garden chores done… some beds I never even got to last year, so I feel pumped to be knocking things off my to-do list.
Have a happy Easter… hope the Bunny is good to you. 🙂

  5. Hi Maria – sound like spring is finally making its way to Sweden. I hope whatever that bug is that’s bugging you daughter finally just goes away. A kid needs to feel healthy to enjoy all the things and people that Sweden has to offer. Oh – and why am I enjoying the fact that your plants are taking over your inside-home and need to move out ASAP. Sounds like self-inflicted FUNisment to me.

    1. LOL, you made me laugh with that last reflection 🙂 I actually transplanted them today. It’s the warmest day so far this year, and YES I am enjoying it. I am starting to think that perhaps my daughter doesn’t have a cold, maybe it’s really bad allergies? I’m going to get her a different medicine, and we’ll see. It doesn’t get better at all. Don’t get me wrong, we are enjoying a fabulous Easter anyways 🙂 I hope you are as well.

    1. Yes! It is so lovely to sit outside and enjoy some coffee. I transplanted my tomato plants today, and to celebrate when I was finished I enjoyed a really good dark roast (coffee).

I’m praying your daughters cold and cough gets better, I hate those lingering coughs. I’m so happy you’re getting enough warmth to move your tomato plants, YAY!! Things are looking up with traveling much easier everywhere. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and week ahead! Sending hugs to you and family! ❤️🐇🐰🤗💞

    1. Thank you so much Diana! I can understand that you miss your grandkids especially during holidays.
How are your gardening plans progressing? Is it still very warm in California?
I hope you are enjoying a fabulous Easter. Your husbands birthday cake looked amazing, did you make it?

      1. I bought a garden guide book that I’m going to read to start gardening and planting correctly. I’ve been really bad about winging it, and I have been failing at growing veggies. I’m going to spend some time educating myself this year. I should have started reading a couple months ago, but the seasons here are long. I’ve been so preoccupied with my horses, that obsession has taken over all my time. I’m learning to cut back a bit so I can fit in gardening! Lol 🤪
We had a mini heat wave, but it’s cooled off the last 2 weeks getting into the 50’s at night and 70’s during the day. Super nice outside. Lastly, you are too kind! Yes, I made my hubby’s birthday cake (and oops, I forgot to mention his birthday and my daughters birthday was the next day. I think I’ll share another smile post and talk about their wonderful birthdays) but I did cheat and I bought a store box cake mix vanilla flavor and already made frosting in a jar. It’s still homemade, just not from scratch! Wish me luck with my gardening, last year was so sad my tomatoes never fruited so I pulled them out…. Bad luck or something… 😀❤️🤩
