Weekend Coffee Share – on the run…sort of

Welcome to the Weekend coffee share! Can I get you a cup of coffee? Tea? Today it feels like I’m grabbing my coffee on the run sort of, even though I have finished everything I set up to do this weekend. How are you doing?

The move is only a week away now, and I’ve basically packed everything that we don’t need to use this last week. I took a break from all the moving preparations earlier today and went for a long walk. We’ve had a storm coming through on Friday and Saturday, and it was still very windy. Windy and icy, but the sun was bright and it felt like an early spring day. I really needed to get out a little.

My daughter asked me if I could bake pizza for dinner today. The pizza dough is rising at the kitchen counter as I have this lovely cup of coffee with you. It’s almost time to roll it out and add all the yummy toppings. If you stick around I’ll be happy to share a slice, or two with you.

How is your week so far? Tell me in a comment! Thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share.

Love,

Maria

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. I now reside in the region where I was born: Dalarna, Sweden. I am a mom, a kindergarten teacher, a minimalist and a gardener. Love, Maria

    1. Here’s some pizza coming right up John!
Yes, one have to walk very carefully outside. Yesterday morning we had a lot of snow covering the ice as well, which made it harder to see where to walk. It is not cold at all, the weather is comfortable, even though your weather is without a doubt more comfortable 🙂 Enjoy your week, and thank you for the comment.

      1. I’ve also slipped on bare ice covered with fresh, light snow and it was not a good experience! Growing up in Michigan’s cold winters, you learn to not fall down, hopefully. 😂 It’s not cold if you are acclimated to it. The reverse is true for me. 🔥

    1. I’ll send you a slice of the pizza 🙂
It was one of the side roads of the park next to me. It’s a walking path, but I did not take that one.
Thank you so much for your kindness! Have a fabulous week.

  1. An exciting countdown this week to moving day! Can’t wait to see the new digs. 🙂
That walkway sure looks icy, hope you have grippers for your boots. We have to wear ours all the time, the trails have become so icy, but they are melting and soon we won’t need them. The birds are singing their spring songs, and flocks of robins are arriving daily. Hard to believe it is February!
Have a great week ahead! ❤

    1. Yes 🙂 It is exciting times! I’ve move so many times in my lie that I’ve lost count, but I still think every move is exhilarating and filled with new opportunities, even when it is only a short one like this.

This year I am more eager for the ice to melt than any previous year. It’s been so very icy. Flocks of robins! That is spring! Enjoy! Have a wonderful week my friend ❤

  2. Maria, Thank you for your weekend coffee share. I’m glad you got home safely despite icy paths on your walk. There hasn’t been any snow or ice in my corner of the world for over two weeks. Today the daytime high reached 8 Celsius degrees and partly sunny. I just had homemade pizza for dinner. Great minds think alike 🙂 All the best with your move next week.

  3. You have to grant that Sweden is very pretty in mid February. I’d take that walk with you for both the view and getting all those steps in. I’ve gotten serious about getting at least 10K./day but I rarely get to do so someplace so exotic and beautiful.
I’m looking forward to hearing how your move goes and sharing a cup or two from your new digs soon.

    1. Thank you Gary! Watch your step, it is very icy! Yesterday we had a couple inches of snow on top of the ice as well. I do love winter, but for some reason I feel that this year I’ve had enough. I’ve been thinking about why, and I believe its due to me being so busy with work, school, and the kids that I have not really had the time to enjoy the things I do love about winter. I’ve promised myself to get back into cross country skiing next year. I used to compete in cross country skiing, so did my mom, and my dad. That said, I have not been on a pair of cross country skis in more than 20 years. When we move we are going to live next to some wonderful cross country tracks, and my plan is to get back in to cross country skiing again.
Thank you fort taking the time to walk with me. Have a wonderful new week!

  4. So nice you took a break from all the packing & such a beautiful area to have a break in. It looks so icy cold I was imagining what the warmth of the sun would feel like through the biting wind. It has been a busy fun week here on the farm, I have so much to share I don’t even know where to begin, lol. Have a wonderful week my friend

    1. Thank you! Its was a well needed break indeed. The sun feels extra fabulous in the winter, we don’t see it so much.
I need to head over to your blog for that farm update 🙂 Have a wonderful new week!
